Background

Revised Annex V of MARPOL 73/78 requires every ship of 400 GT and above and every ship certified to carry 15 persons or more to carry a Garbage Management Plan and be provided with a Garbage Record Book (with garbage discharge record formed as Part I and Part II). Scope of this plan is to provide compliance with MARPOL and Company’s policy on garbage management. Plan is developed in line with IMO legislation. Approval by the Administration or a Recognized Organization (RO) on behalf of the Administration is NOT mandatory.
