UK MRV Reporting Regime announced after Brexit

Due to Brexit, EU MRV no longer applies to ships visiting UK ports. As such, UK is no longer part of the EU MRV regime but it has retained and amended the EU legislation with the establishment of an identical scheme, the UK MRV scheme.

Major shipping groups, including BIMCO, ICS, INTERCARGO, INTERTANKO, and OCIMF, announced a reduction of geographic boundaries of the ‘High Risk Area’ for piracy in the Indian Ocean, effective from 1 September 2021.

New CIC on Stability in General

A new Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Stability in General has been announced jointly by several MoUs (Paris MoU, Tokyo MoU, Black Sea MoU, Indian MoU, Mediterranean, Riyadh and Vina del Mar MoUs), commencing from 1 September 2021 and ending 30 November 2021.

AMSA announced that a Focused Inspection Campaign on Safety of Navigation will be conducted from 1 August 2021 to 30 September 2021. AMSA surveyors will undertake the FIC in conjunction with Port or flag State Control inspections.
