Make sure that the cylinder valve is pointed away. NOTE: There should be no straps between the hands. Step 5: Lift the cylinder, and let the regular and harness hang freely. Step 6: Raise the cylinder overhead, and let the elbows find their respective loosened harness shoulder strap loops. Keeping elbows close to the body, tuck chin and grasp the shoulder straps as the SCBA begins to slide down the back. Let the straps slide through the hands as the backpack lowers into place. Wind the boat fallmanually to take off the slack. Pull out the safety pin of the davit arm stop, if fitted. Note: Safety pins are generally intended only for use duringmaintenance or in port. 2. Release the davit arm stop by operating the handle. 3.5 Boarding the lifeboat 1. Confirm that the remote controlwire is drawn into the lifeboat. 2.
