Background

The Port Health Organization (PHO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, in Kandla port has issued compliance instructions for port entry and operations. A vessel must have a Water Safety Plan and a Food Safety Plan as part of a Vector Management Plan. As a result Ship managers of vessels calling at Kandla port are advised to ensure extra shipboard measures are implemented against Vectors.
