Background

MARPOL Annex IV provides that all ships requesting relevant Class Notation should be equipped with a Sewage Pollution Prevention Plan. Scope of this plan is to provide a proactive guidelines on Sewage Management. Plan is developed in line with IMO Requirements, Class requirements and common marine practice. Approval by the Administration or a Recognised Organisation (RO) on behalf of the Administration is NOT mandatory, however plan will be subject to approval for the RO providing relevant notation.
